Pepsi Flavored Cheetos Are Real, Terrifying [Video]

While Pepsi flavored Cheetos may sound like the most disgusting thing ever in life… there’s no other way to end that sentence other than “yes, yes they are.”
But how can you solve the issue Pepsi flavored Cheetos addresses otherwise? Are we really expected to wait for both Pepsi and Cheetos-licious tastes by cramming them separately into our faceholes rather than in a single, shoveable foodstuff?


In Japan, where of course Pepsi flavored Cheetos originated, the answer is “of course not, duh.”
Packaging pics are in Japanese, which allows us some plausible deniability wiggle room… perhaps Pepsi flavored Cheetos are just the fever dream of a person who smoked too much pot, or a clever photoshop from a humor site?
Alas, no. Pepsi flavored Cheetos exist, and one brave English-speaking food blogger was brave enough to actually put one in his mouth and then relive the experience in a blog post.
The Los Angeles Times quotes the Impulsive Buy’s Steve, who describes the horror in detail:
“The first sensation, which I did not expect, was a very acidic bite. It tries to capture the citrus notes of Pepsi, but it’s over the top. Too lemony. The sweeter cola flavor is there but it’s subtler and overpowered by the intense citrus.”
Steve continues, saying Pepsi flavored Cheetos actually fizz in your mouth oh my God kill it with fire:
“The flavors are very distinct and don’t really ever mesh well together. But they do linger in the mouth for quite a while to leave you with a weird, marginally accurate, if lemony, Pepsi aftertaste. The corn puff tastes like it should. It doesn’t do a lot besides acting as a vehicle, which is good because there is already a lot going on.”
As we accept the existence of Pepsi flavored Cheetos, let us spare a moment to thank Steve and all who went before him, because does anyone else feel like they wouldn’t put one of those things in their mouths for a thousand dollars?
